How to Replace a Thermostat on Your ILVE Range

Tools Required 

  • Phillips screwdriver 
  • T10 Torx screwdriver 
  • New ILVE-compatible thermostat 
  • Clean workspace 
  • Gloves (optional) 

Step-by-Step Replacement Process

  1. Remove the Grates and Burners 
    • Lift off the cooktop grates and burner caps to access the surface. 
  2. Unscrew the Drip Tray 
    • Using a Phillips and T10 Torx screwdriver, remove the screws securing the drip tray. 
  3. Remove the Thermostat Knob 
    • Gently pull the knob off the thermostat shaft. 
  4. Unscrew the Thermostat from the Control Panel 
    • Remove the mounting screws holding the thermostat in place. 
  5. Disconnect the Wires 
    • Carefully disconnect the two wires from the back of the thermostat. 
  6. Unhook the Thermostat Bulb from Inside the Oven 
    • Open the oven door and detach the sensor bulb from its clips. 
  7. Slide Out the Thermostat 
    • Carefully remove the entire thermostat unit from the back of the appliance. 
  8. Install the New Thermostat and Reconnect the Wires 
    • Insert the replacement thermostat and connect the two wires as originally configured. 
  9. Secure the Thermostat with Screws 
    • Reattach the thermostat to the control panel using the original screws. 
  10. Insert the New Thermostat Knob 
    • Slide the new or original knob back onto the shaft. 
  11. Reposition the Thermostat Bulb 
    • Hook the bulb securely back into place inside the oven cavity. 
  12. Reinstall the Drip Tray 
    • Replace the drip tray and secure it with screws. 
  13. Replace the Burners and Grates 
    • Reassemble the cooktop by returning the burners and grates to their original positions.
