Step-by-Step Replacement Process

Remove the grates and burners.
Take off all cooktop grates and burner caps to access internal components. -
Unscrew the drip tray.
Using a Phillips and T10 Torx screwdriver, remove the screws holding the drip tray in place and lift it off. -
Take out the glass panels.
Use an 8mm socket wrench to unscrew the thermocouple from its mounting cup. -
Disconnect the thermocouple from the valve.
Gently pull the thermocouple wire out from the gas valve connection. -
Insert the new thermocouple.
Slide the new thermocouple wire out from the gas valve connection. -
Secure the thermocouple to the cup.
Use the 8mm wrench to tighten the new thermocouple into the mounting cup. -
Reinstall the drip tray.
Place the drip tray back and screw it into position with the original fasteners. -
Replace the burners and grates.
Reassemble the cooktop by returning the burners and grates to their original positions.
