Overview
The broiler function in Panoramagic ovens uses high-intensity heat from the upper element to brown, finish, and grill food. Due to the larger oven cavity and strong airflow design, broiling performance may take slightly longer to become noticeable compared to smaller ovens.
During operation, the broiler element does not stay on continuously—it cycles to maintain temperature. This can sometimes be mistaken for a lack of heat. Additionally, proper use of the TFT control system, correct function selection, and full preheating are critical for proper broiler performance.
The TFT display provides clear visual confirmation of preheating progress. As shown in the manual, the oven transitions through a preheating phase and indicates completion once the target temperature is reached. If the broiler appears inactive, it is often due to setup, timing, or positioning rather than a failure.
Common Causes
Broiler issues are most commonly related to:
- Incorrect cooking mode selected on TFT
- Oven not fully preheated
- Large cavity requiring stabilization time
- Rack position too low
- Door position affecting heat retention
- Settings not properly confirmed on display
- Normal cycling behavior misinterpreted
Operational Note
- The broiler uses direct top heat and requires proper setup
- The element will cycle on and off during operation
- Heat may take longer to build due to large cavity design
The TFT display confirms when preheat is complete.
The broiler may not glow continuously — this is normal.
Troubleshooting Tip
Review the troubleshooting chart on the following page before contacting service.| Possible Cause | What To Do |
|---|---|
| Incorrect cooking mode selected | Select Broil/Grill function on display |
| Oven not fully preheated | Allow full preheat before use |
| Large cavity not stabilized | Allow additional 5–10 minutes after preheat |
| Rack position too low | Move rack closer to broiler |
| Function not confirmed | Confirm settings on TFT screen |
| Results evaluated too early | Allow time for heat to develop |
Step 1: Confirm broiler function is selected
Steps:
- Turn oven on
- Select Grill function on TFT display
- Confirm selection
Important:
- Ensure the function is started, not just selected
Step 2: Confirm preheat completion
Steps:
- Allow oven to reach set temperature
- Wait for preheat indication on display
Action:
- Do NOT insert food before preheat completes
Step 3: Allow cavity stabilization
Steps:
- After preheat completes, wait an additional 5–10 minutes
Action:
- Improves broiler consistency and heat intensity
Step 4: Check rack position
Steps:
- Inspect current rack placement
Action:
- Move rack closer to top for broiling
- Use upper rack positions
Step 5: Evaluate door position
Steps:
- Check if oven door is fully closed
Result:
- Proper heat retention and performance
Step 6: Observe broiler behavior
Steps:
- Monitor heating performance
Result:
- Heat cycles on/off → Normal
- Delayed heat → Allow more time
- No heat → Continue diagnosis
Step 7: Identify pattern
| Situation | Observed Behavior | What It Indicates |
|---|---|---|
| A | Heat begins after a short delay | Normal operation |
| B | Broiler cycles on and off during use | Temperature regulation (normal) |
| C | Weak or uneven browning | Rack position or insufficient preheat |
| D | No heat after proper setup | Setup issue or possible internal problem |
Step 8: Identify unsafe conditions
Check for:
- No heat after extended time
- No response when selecting broil
- Inconsistent or no activation
If any of these occur:
- Turn OFF appliance
- Do NOT continue use
- Allow unit to cool
- Contact service
When to contact service
Service is required if:
- Broiler produces no heat after proper setup
- No response from broil function
Possible causes include:
- Upper heating element issue
- Control system malfunction
- Electrical connection issue
These components require inspection by a qualified service technician.
