Dialogue with space

Vintage atmosphere for a kitchen that perfectly interacts with the past and the contemporary. Muted colours, dark tones and classic motifs, such as the herringbone of the parquet flooring, create an elegant, austere and sophisticated ambiance: the monumental hood seamlessly hugs the wall, offering a three-dimensional trompe l’oeil that is also echoed in the black veined marble worktop. The reference to Aires Mateus’ architecture is almost inevitable: absolute, soundless, minimalist, sculptural spatiality.
The marble-topped table is conceived as a central element, a sort of island of amity, separated and standing out from the rest by the use of a large rug that sets its boundaries. The boiserie on the ceiling defines a stately ambiance with a classic taste, as do the frames of the large windows which provide natural lighting to the house. The large worktop is deliberately left free, opting for an essential aesthetic and a functional approach.
The 70 cm built-in hob from Ilve’s Nostalgie collection stands out naturally from the marble veins with its brass burners protected by a special nanotechnological treatment and with the characteristic knobs that reprise the shapes of old-fashioned range cookers. The interplay between past and present continues thanks to these retro aesthetic cues combined with state-of-the-art technology: even the 60 cm oven echoes the nostalgic character of the collection in the colours and finishes for knobs and handles, while guaranteeing high performance thanks to the 4.3 cm TFT screen and electronic temperature control up to 320° C.
The Graphite Mat side by side refrigerator with burnished finish, imposing and minimalist, closes the perimeter mirroring the hood and echoing the unmistakable style of the Ilve collection.
To return again to Mateus’ architecture, we are faced with a space that is easy to make one’s own, balanced and measured, that can be experienced and inhabited with a feeling of harmony.
